Tuesday Tips - On Wednesday

Today's tip is on Buy 1 Get 1 Free Coupons...how to most effectively use these types of coupons.

When I get one of these coupons, there are a few things I instantly look for...I look to see if I have another coupon for the same item that is a $$$ off coupon.  For example, if I have a B1G1 FREE Coupon for Cat Food, I look to see if I've also got a $$$ off coupon for the same Cat Food.  Why?  Because, you can use a $$$$ off coupon along with a B1G1 FREE coupon in order to reduce your cost.  You do not have to pay full price for the item you are buying.  However, if you have a B1G1 FREE coupon and a $$$$ off coupon, to use that set of coupons correctly, you must buy 2 items, and only use the B1G1 FREE coupon and the $$$ off coupon.

If you have a B1G1 FREE coupon, and CVS or Walgreens is having a sale for the same item, you CAN use that coupon, along with the sale, to get both items free...for example, if CVS or Walgreens had deodorant on sale for B1G1 FREE, and you also had a B1G1 FREE coupon for the same item, you would purchase two items, use one coupon, and get both items free!!!!  How awesome is that???

Here are a few other ways you can use B1G1 FREE coupons:

If you have a B1G1 FREE coupon, and you have a $1.00/2 coupon for the same items, you would purchase (4) items, use (2) B1G1 FREE coupons, and (1) $1.00/2 coupon.  Because, you are buying (2) items, and getting (2) items for free...you can't get money off of something you are already getting for free.

If you have a B2G1 FREE coupon, and a $1.00/2 coupon for the same items, you would purchase (6) items, use (2) $1.00/2 coupons, and (2) B2G1 FREE coupons.  You would be getting $0.50 off of each of the items you are buying, and then getting 2 items free.

If you have a B2G1 FREE coupon, and a $1.00/1 coupon for the same items, you would purchase (3) items, use (2) $1.00/1 coupons, along with the B2G1 FREE coupons.

It took me a very long time to figure out how to use these coupons to my benefit.  It is a little confusing at first, but remember, you must have only 1 coupon per purchase, and a purchase is an item...

Come back next Tuesday for another great tip!!!
